Working with Abby has transformed how I think about movement, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Before, I felt like there were certain movements that were off-limits to me because some body part or joint would hurt… but she showed me that with the right training, just about anything is possible. The thing about Abby is she gives a damn. About you. Your weird health and fitness goals and dreams. It’s evident from the first day when she fills pages of notes watching you walk, jog, run. When she sends you link after link about the benefits of this spice or that ingredient because of your family history or just because you asked.

Through Abby I’ve learned the art of the “big salad” and turmeric eggs, how what you eat affects how you think, and that kombucha is pretty damn good and good for you. I first met her when I participated in her Wednesday Pickleball Fitness Class and realized how tailored it was to this particular sport. I am sixty-eight and I’ve been active all my adult life. From Running in my twenties to yoga from my thirties on, Tennis ages fourteen to thirty, Racquetball in my thirties, Swimming thirty-two to sixty-six, Walking my dog two miles/day miles a day at sixty-six.

At age 67, I discovered the ultimate endorphin: Pickleball; I was also met with an extreme flair up of knee pain.

I had tried treating this chronic pain for at least the past 10 years with intermittent physical therapy, some ice, a myriad of creams from BioFreeze to CBD, oral meds like Advil, THC, and even PRP injections.

I was leaning towards seeing a physical therapist because my med plan would cover the majority of cost. But before I did that, I was introduced to Abby.

I went to our first meeting with the strong-willed idea that I must research 3 options before I decide, BUT, I was so impressed with her comprehensive approach from my toes to my core that I immediately started training 3 x week with her.

6 weeks later and NO PAIN.

I can now play Pickleball without Advil and a support sleeve. I can now get up out of a chair without looking like I am 80.

“I have enjoyed playing tennis for over 30 years. It was my way of working out and having fun at the same time. Late last year I injured my groin muscle and had to stop playing to recover. This was the second time I had injured my groin muscle in the past year. Something had to change. In between tennis matches I would always do some weight lifting.

I had seen her work out at the gym and wished I could be in good enough shape to work out just as hard as she does. I hired Abby Maroko to help me in that recovery. The main reason I hired her is because she is a nice person, very knowledgeable about physical training.

I would recommend Abby to everyone I know. She is that good! Abby has shown me another way of weight lifting (heavy weights vs. body weights) She brings new exercises every time we work out which to me means she is always trying to improve. I really like that! I have seen improvements with my core, weight lifting form and most importantly stretching. Here is maybe the number 1 reason I respect Abby. The next day I DO NOT FEEL SORE! I have enjoyed our workout so much and have seen such improvements that I have decided to continue with Abby and take a longer break from tennis.
